£30,000 grant brings wellbeing opportunities to Broxtowe residents
Broxtowe Borough Council’s grant to Nottinghamshire MIND has given the opportunity for Broxtowe people to benefit from MIND’s #Well Programme.
One recent activity was experiencing our local waterways from a paddle board, thanks to the grant that was made possible through the UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF) from the UK Government, matched with over £9,000 from Nottinghamshire MIND.

£11,910 UKSPF grant helps prepare Beeston’s Parky Players Bond-inspired show for the Edinburgh Fringe
Broxtowe Borough Council’s grant of over £11,000 has helped Beeston-based Parky Players develop a new show.
After rehearsal and local performances, the Broxtowe group are performing the show six times at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival from the 12-17 August.
The grant was made possible through the UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF) from the UK Government. The theatre group raised over £12,000 from other sources, to complete the project.

Raleigh, the much-loved British bicycle brand, is pleased to announce their relocation to Durban House in Eastwood, Nottingham. Having been based locally on Church Street in Eastwood since the early 2000s, Raleigh is thrilled to remain in and continue supporting the local community.

Tackling climate change with your help.
You said: Offer community engagement sessions on reducing carbon emissions.
We did: We’ve taken this on board and in 2023/24, we organised over 60 events which were attended by 2,196 people, ranging from litter picks, climate change sessions, waste and recycling talks and other events.
These also included our Green Zone at Hemlock Happening and Green Festival in Eastwood in 2023 which gave you a chance to find out more about the small changes we can make to make a big difference to climate change. You can look forward to our next Green Festival at Coronation Park, Eastwood on 21 September.
Help raise funds for Breast Cancer Now
The Beeston Cemetery chapel will be open for the public to visit and learn about what they offer on Thursday 29 August 2024, 10.00am – 2.00pm at Beeston Cemetery, Wollaton Road, NG9 2TD. They will also be serving tea and cake and raising funds for Breast Cancer Now.
