Broxtowe Borough Council Achieves White Ribbon Reaccreditation

Broxtowe Borough Council have successfully been reaccredited by White Ribbon UK as an officially recognised organisation for the next 3 years.

The White Ribbon campaign is a national project that aims to work with local Government, private businesses and the public to raise awareness of and work towards ending violence against women and girls.

Have you entered our writing competition? There is still time to enter…

We are accepting both short stories and poems (500 words max) from children 16 and under inspired by this year’s theme ‘The Four Seasons.’ First prize in each category will win a Kindle, with runner up and highly commended prizes of up to £50 in National Book Tokens. Competition closes Friday 10 May 2024.

Entry will be in three age categories:

  • Category 1 – ages 4-7 years
  • Category 2 – ages 8-11 years
  • Category 3 – ages 12-16 years

Elections are taking place in Broxtowe on Thursday 2 May for:

  • Police and Crime Commissioner
  • Combined County Authority Mayor
  • Chetwynd: Toton and Chilwell Neighbourhood Plan Referendum
  • Attenborough and Chilwell East Borough Ward By-Election

Don’t have ID? You’ll need it if you want to vote at a polling station.

Do you run a community group or club in the Borough of Broxtowe?

As part of Broxtowe’s Cultural Strategy we are creating a Cultural Map of Broxtowe to help us gather a better understanding of the cultural assets and offering within the Borough. The map will be produced to visualise the type of arts and cultural events, groups and venues we have. The map will not list venue details but these will be kept on a database which will inform our service planning.

To be included on the map please send your lead contact name/details, information about your group and social media links to events@broxtowe.gov.uk
